Frequently asked questions

What is the cancellation/reschedule policy?

If changes need to be made to your appointment whether it’s to reschedule or cancel, it must be made 24 hours prior to the appointment. There is a 100% service fee for any last minute cancellations or reschedules.

Are tips expected?

If you’re like me, you think the tipping culture has gotten out of control. I believe that money comes and goes. If you enjoyed your service and/or experience at Jay & Co. I would rather you use the average 20% tip on treating yourself to a retail product in the boutique, rebooking your next treatment, sending referrals, leaving a google review, and/or promising to wear your SPF everyday.

What is your return or refund policy?

Under no circumstances will there be a refund on services provided or returns/refunds on retail products. All sales are final.

Can I bring my dog?

I wish! I am such an animal lover. I would absolutely love to meet your dog, however it is not approved by the State Board and I would get in trouble if I had pets inside my facial spa. Do share pictures and tell me cute stories of them though!

Can I bring my child during my facial?

No children are allowed unattended in the facial spa.

How come you don’t use a steamer in your facials?

There’s just too many cons with steamers in my book. Not only do I think it is suffocating, but I have seen/heard of way too many accidents and injuries with spitting boiling water during my professional skincare educator days while traveling to spas. It’s something I would never risk my client. It’s also terrible for most skin types, making sensitive compromised barriers worse. There’s just no need for a steamer! (it’s hot an humid enough where we live!) My warm towel h are everything.

Can you explain why Dermaplaning is not on your menu?

This may be an unpopular opinion. My skin health philosophy is to restore, rebuild, and protect. Dermaplaning removes the skin’s outermost protective layer which causes more problems later on. I am just not into quick-skin-fixes. I have also heard of too many adverse reactions, hair regrowth issues, and the list goes on.

What Dermatologist do you recommend?

Dr. Michael Rains, at Beacon Dermatology. Dr. Rains was my Derm when I was living in Austin. I was shocked when I learned that he had relocated to WNC and opened his own practice when I was looking for my new dermatologist when I moved here. Dr. Rains was the only Dermatologist that was able to properly diagnose and heal my type 2 rosacea skin condition. Five star experience.
